about
A fungal infection is caused by a fungus getting into the skin or nail.

This usually occurs through a small cut, crack or break in the skin. The foot is an ideal location for a fungus to live and grown as they like a dark, warm, and moist environment which our feet provide while we wear socks and shoes. A fungal nail will appear discoloured, and the nail will thicken and break easily as the infection progresses. If the fungal infection occurs in the skin it will usually present with redness, cracked skin, itchiness, and pain. At The Foot Folk we are experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections.
